Bridging the Gap with Universities and Colleges

SQL Star seeks to connect with colleges and universities to bridge the gap between what is imparted today in traditional technical colleges and universities and what Industry requires of a new employee. Technology evolves at such a rapid pace that it is extremely difficult for academic institutions to keep up with technology advancements. As a result, new technologies typically are not part of the regular syllabi in most institutions of learning. Today the burden is on Industry to take on the role of up-skilling the graduates to the desired levels. This is both time consuming and expensive. Intervention in the form of supplemental education is the need of the hour. Only then can Industry have a larger choice of graduates, who in turn are ready to face the challenges in a much shorter time frame.

The Education for Employment Solution

SQL star has initiated a program that takes supplementary IT training directly into colleges and universities. The key objective of this program is to increase the 'supply' of adequately educated and ready to deploy candidates to Industry. We work very closely with the partnering universities by providing a supplemental IT training path that compliments each colleges’ unique syllabi and train college faculty to deliver the courses. The program ensures that the student’s needs and requirements are given great care as only the most relevant and necessary education is provided.

This program has been appropriately coined Education for Employment (E for E) and complete program details can be found be following the link above.

Benefits All Round

The reputation of an Academic Institution, more often than not, is gauged by the number of campus placements. By having students more industry ready, the probability of campus placements increases multifold. In the years to come, the reputation of the college is enhanced substantially, attracting brighter talent, which in turn leads to an even better placement record – a growing and an upward spiral.

Some of the obvious benefits of such a program are:

  • Increased student placements
  • Increased competition from corporates to hire the “best” students
  • Shorter incubation time for industry
  • Greater student demand for placement in your college
  • Higher tuition fees can be commanded as success grows
  • Increased industry knowledge for faculty
  • Higher ROI on usage of fixed facilities (classroom infrastructure, computers, etc.)
  • Association with premium IT education brand of SQL Star International
