Frequently Asked Questions
1. I forgot my username/password. How can I retrieve it?
To retrieve your login information, select Forgot password . This link is also available in the login box on the site’s front page. Enter the e-mail address or the username that you designated when you registered for the site. Your login information will be sent to your e-mail within a few minutes.
2. My email address has changed since I registered on the site. What should I do?
Login to the site, select My Account link, select the Edit tab on the form, and type a valid email address in the email field of the form. Select the Submit button at the bottom of the form. Your new email address is saved and any communication from the site, including password change requests will be sent to this new valid email address.
If you no longer can access the e-mail address that you used when registering for the site AND you cannot remember your password to login, you may want to create a new account or Contact Us and we’ll be happy to assist you. (Please include your login name in your request for assistance.)
3. I never got my registration e-mail. How can I have it re-sent?
If you self enrolled on the site an email with login and password confirmation was sent to the email address that you specified during the registration process. If the email does not appear in your Inbox, please check your spam folder, to ensure that the e-mail was not accidentally filtered there. To prevent this, we suggest adding www.thelearningport.com to your “always accepted” list within your e-mail preferences. If you still cannot find the registration information Contact Us to resolve.
4. Why can’t I launch a Demo Courses?
Upon registration with the site, we will provide you with complimentary access to several samples of demo courses and assessments to help you decide what sort of courses you may be interested in taking, and to give you an example of the level of training we offer. These free demos are a small part of the real course and will be available for the first 24 hours following your account creation. After that time, the demo courses will no longer be active but you will still have open access to My Resources industry relevant content, articles, and whitepapers on our site. Contact Us to purchase and enroll in the course(s) of your choice.
5. I bought a course, but I do not see it in my courses list.
Please contact our customer support team at Contact Us and they will be happy to assist you. For faster service, please have your username, and order information on hand.
6. How can I enroll in a course?
Currently, we can only enroll students in courses over the phone, or in person. Web ordering is coming soon, but until then please Contact Us or visit one of our Knowledge Centers where a Career Counsellor is available to assist you.
7. When I click on a link in my course, nothing happens!
There is a good chance that your internet browser’s popup blocker is disabling the window that that link is supposed to open in. If you are having trouble, try to disable your popup blocker, and/or add www.thelearningport.com to your list of accepted domains. Due to the variance in browsers and internet popup blockers available, we suggest that you consult your browser’s Help file to check your popup blocker settings.
8. How can I search for content on this site?
The easiest way to search for content is by entering a key word (such as Oracle) into the Search box on the Home page.. If you would like to refine your results, you may select the “Advanced Search” button on the results page, and view a list of tags, categories, and types of content which you may select. Then click the “Advanced Search” option at the bottom of the search frame. Use key word search only -- natural language searches, such as “What are good PL/SQL practices to follow?” are currently not available.
9. How may I use the content on this site?
The content on this site is available for your personal use. You are welcome to read it, and if desired may store a copy for your personal use. The owners of the content posted in My Resources retain all rights to the content, and as such some may only be available for a limited time. All content posted on this site is protected under international copyright laws, and is the property of the author, unless otherwise noted. Neither SQL Star nor thelearningport.com may grant permission for others to use this content beyond the terms of use outlined in this site.
10. I have authored papers on some of the topics relevant to the site. May I submit content I have authored to be posted on this site?
To submit your content for consideration, please send an email with the content attached to
info@thelearningport.com with the subject heading “For publishing consideration”. We will review your work, and respond within 7-10 business days, in most cases.
